ATLANTA — Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns says an earthquake was reported Friday morning near Augusta.
The 2.5 magnitude quake was reported in the city of Evans.
"We've been seeing a lot of geologic activity in this are over the recent weeks and months," Burns said Friday on Channel 2 Action News at 4.

As we move into the weekend, the models are varying greatly with timing of the system.
It appears the onset of the storms will enter North Georgia after sunset on Saturday.
Rain may linger into Sunday through the morning, but widespread severe weather is unlikely.
