Heat wave on the way! Temperatures to reach the 90s this week

ATLANTA — Summer heat is on the way!

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said highs will reach the lower to mid-90s for much of north Georgia this week.

A code orange air quality alert is in effect for Monday.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Near record highs Monday through Friday for metro Atlanta
• High of 92 predicted for Monday and Tuesday
• Temperature will run 5 -11 degrees above normal through Saturday
• No rain is in the forecast
