ATLANTA — Hall of Fame sports broadcaster Craig Sager’s legacy is living on in Atlanta through the Sager Strong Foundation.
“He was such a fun and colorful person," said Terri Grunduski, Executive Director of Sager Strong Foundation.

Grunduski said the nonprofit was working on a project with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta when the coronavirus pandemic brought those plans to a halt.
“We heard that the kids now were in isolation because they weren’t allowing families to come in and see them. We thought, gosh, we have to support our partners over at The Zone.”
“The Zone" is an activity space for patients and their families. The nonprofit sent paint palettes to create craft kits for kids who would normally visit that section of the hospital.
“An important part of healing and an important part of coping with hospitalization, is just being able to still be a normal kid,” said Juliet Veal, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
The Sager Strong Foundation hopes to raise enough money through GA Gives on Giving Tuesday Now to buy another round of craft kits.
Veal said the hospital is packing up activities to send to the young patients’ rooms instead, "That way they can still just do all the things that they would normally be doing if they were able to be moving around and interacting with other patients.”
The online fundraiser, hosted by The Georgia Center for Nonprofits, helps nonprofits across the state.
