NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Luke Bryan is gearing up for a big performance at “The 51st Annual CMA Awards” this Wednesday night.
He’s set to perform his brand-new single, “Light It Up,” which is the lead release on his upcoming album, “What Makes You Country,” due out Dec. 8.
You can watch the CMA Awards ONLY on Channel 2 LIVE at 8 p.m. Wednesday! Then, stick around for The Channel 2 Action News Nightbeat at 11 immediately following the show.
Rare Country caught up with Luke right after he rehearsed his performance of "Light It Up" at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena Nov. 6. He said the single is "doing great. We're fired up."
Luke is definitely one of the big attractions for fans tuning into this year’s CMA Awards broadcast, but he’s just excited about “Country Music’s Biggest Night” as anyone else.
"I still get fired up that they let me in the room," Luke told Rare Country. "I get to walk the red carpet, ride here in limos, have people dress me [and] do my hair. What will my dad think? My dad's like, 'What have they done with my boy?'"
Luke is up for Entertainer of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards, a category where he is nominated alongside his pal Keith Urban.
Getting to see Keith is one of Luke’s favorite parts of the CMA Awards night, but it’s not because of the mutual respect they have for each other. It’s because Keith Urban smells fantastic.
