GAINESVILLE, Ga. — A young man drowned on Lake Lanier over the weekend.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources said on Sunday that game wardens went to Margaritaville on Lake Lanier where the drowning happened.

The 20-year-old drowned in the swimming area. The game wardens found his body and Hall County Fire pulled him out.
Police said his identity will be released after the family has been made aware of his death.
Police have not released information on how the man drowned.

According to DNR, more than 25 people have died so far this year on waterways. A 5-year-old also drowned over the weekend.
It happened Saturday afternoon on Lake Allatoona. Witnesses said the child was playing on a float and disappeared into the lake a few minutes later.
