One lucky Camilla man has an extra spring in his step since winning a plentiful prize from the Georgia Lottery. Kevin Anderson, 36, won a $2 million top prize playing the instant game Monopoly Millionaire.
A McDonald’s crewmember, Anderson scratched his lucky ticket while at work.
“I shouted, ‘I did it,’ ” he exclaimed. “It feels good.”
Anderson purchased his lucky ticket at Susie Q’s #0070, 8 U.S. Highway 19 S., Camilla.
He purchased his ticket on Mother’s Day and claimed his prize May 12 at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.
“I just want to soak it in and do something for my family,” he said.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.2 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
