CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — A former Clayton County Sheriff’s deputy is in the hospital after an early morning shooting incident.
Clayton County police say he was shot after some sort of dispute near Mixers Jamaican Restaurant, Bar and Grill on Mount Zion Road, just outside of Jonesboro.

Police say they were called out just after 3 a.m. after reports of a shooting. Witnesses tell police the incident start as an argument or fight in the parking lot area and shots were fired.
A WSB Channel 2 News Photographer said Crime Scene Investigators remained out on site until just before 11 a.m. on Sunday.

At this time, Clayton County police haven’t identified the former deputy, named a suspect or charged anyone in the incident, which remains under investigation.
The officer’s condition has not been released.
