CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — Cherokee County Sheriff’s office said two people were killed in a car crash Wednesday afternoon.
CCSO officials said the crash happened at 2:20 p.m. on Hwy 1-8 near Deer Track Drive in the Sutallee community.

According to deputies, the driver of the car, a man from Cartersville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities added that the passenger, a man from Cartersville, was taken to Northside Cherokee Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The identities of the two victims have not been released.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, CCSO officials said they believe speed could have caused the accident.
