Bibb County deputies said Albert Knight, 59, died of blunt force trauma in an alleyway near the intersection of Poplar Street and Second Street on May 26. Knight was found dead with a severe head wound.
The sheriff’s office had released surveillance video of a man they believe to be the suspect in the case.
On Dec. 2, the Giles County Sheriff’s Office in Pulaski, Tenn. contacted Bibb County deputies. Giles County investigators said they had arrested a person of interest in a homicide investigation that happened in Tennessee.
The person of interest claimed he had information regarding Knight’s death.

After the interview, investigators determined that the person of interest, identified as 39-year-old Adam Rosenthal of Gainesville, Fla. is connected to the death of Knight.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee told WGXA that Rosenthal previously ran as a mayoral candidate in Gainesville, Fla. According to the Alachua Board of Elections Office, Rosenthal ran against eight other candidates and secured less than 2% of the vote, WGXA reports. Additionally, Rosenthal didn’t receive any monetary contributions during his campaign, according to WGXA.
Warrants were obtained for Rosenthal on Dec. 4 for Knight’s murder.
The Giles County Sheriff’s Office is holding Rosenthal on another murder charge, unrelated to Knight’s murder.
