ATLANTA — One lucky Georgia Lottery player has won a $5 million prize as the extra chance prize winner of the Georgia Lottery's 20th Anniversary Extravaganza Extra Chance Promotion. Eric Holliday of Greensboro was randomly selected as the extra chance prize winner of the promotion, winning $5 million.
The drawing was held April 3.
The Georgia Lottery has commemorated its 20th anniversary, celebrating with the anniversary-themed instant ticket Georgia Lottery's 20th Anniversary Extravaganza with top prizes of up to $1 million and $5 million.
Players entered their non-winning instant tickets through the Georgia Lottery's website www.galottery.com for entry into the Extra Chance Promotion for an extra chance to win $5 million.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
