Officers responded to a report of a woman with a gunshot wound at about 1:45 p.m. on Candler Street.
EMS workers took her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police said Sudduth told officers he arranged to meet a few people at Rose Hill Cemetery to sell marijuana.
During the deal, the males allegedly tried to rob him at gunpoint.
As Sudduth drove away, one of the suspects fired a gun and hit his female passenger in the back seat.
Sudduth then drove to a nearby parking lot and called 911.
Deputies searched the area near where the shooting happened and took five suspects into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
