Cherokee Co. deputies identify father, daughter killed in Thanksgiving car crash

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. — A father and daughter were killed Thursday in a car accident, according to Cherokee County Sheriff officials.

CCSO said deputies responded around 11:30 a.m. to a car crash on Knox Bridge Highway near Scott Hudgens Drive.

According to deputies, a Ford F-150 truck was traveling east, crossed the center line and hit a Nissan SUV traveling west.

Authorities said the driver, 52-year-old Chris Mynes, and his 18-year-old daughter Alivia Mynes, who was in the back seat, died in the crash. Deputies said his wife and younger daughter were taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the F-150, a 24-year-old from Canton, was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

Officials said there were no injuries in the other two cars involved.

The accident is still under investigation.
