RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — Deputies in eastern Georgia are investigating a deadly shooting.
On Wednesday, at approximately 3:23 p.m., the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting on the 700 block of Broad Street, just a few blocks away from the Georgia/South Carolina border.
When they arrived, deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.
Deputies were able to detain a possible suspect in connection with the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing.
