According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina, a woman was shot at around 5:30 p.m. Sunday as she, her husband, and two children were traveling on I-85 southbound near the Georgia state line.

Her family was returning home from a Monster Jam show in Greenville, South Carolina when they were involved in what the sheriff’s office describes as a “possible road rage” shooting.
According to Lucy Haskill, who started one of the GoFundMe fundraisers, the driver of a BMW opened fire on the family’s van, striking Heather in the head and narrowly missing her two children in the back.

The family created a Facebook page to provide updates. As of Tuesday, the family says Stevanus is critical but stable.
“Her CT scan this morning showed no change from the day before which is good, the swelling hasn’t improved yet but it has not gotten worse which was their main concern,” the post said. “The biggest thing now is just giving her brain and body time to heal and keep trying the breathing trials when she’s able to tolerate them.”
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for any information about the shooting.
If you can provide any details, you are urged to contact CrimeStoppers at oconeecrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward if the tip results in an arrest.
