The National Weather service has confirmed that a pair of tornados touched down Friday night.

Both tornados were rated as EF1 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale, which classifies tornadoes by estimated wind speeds.
A tornado touched down in Carroll County near Villa Rica. It uprooted trees and caused some damage to structures. It was estimated to have peak winds at 95 mph.
Another tornado struck in Newton County near Brown Bridge Road. It caused damage to businesses and tossed two cars around 100 feet. It also damaged the roof of Veterans Middle School. The National Weather Service estimated that tornado’s max winds around 90 mph.

Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported in both tornadoes.
