ATLANTA — Rep. Doug Collins says he is putting himself under self-quarantine he had contact with a person who tested positive for coronavirus at this weekend’s CPAC conference.

Collins said he was notified this morning that he was seen in a picture with the person who has tested positive for the virus.

In a statement from his office, he said:

“While I feel completely healthy and I am not experiencing any symptoms, I have decided to self-quarantine at my home for the remainder of the 14-day period out of an abundance of caution. I will follow the recommendations of the House Physician and my office will provide updates as appropriate.”

A spokesperson for Collins said they have notified the White House after Collins shook hands with President Donald Trump at Dobbins Air Reserve Base on Friday when Trump came to Atlanta to tour the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Two other Republican members of Congress -- Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and Rep. Paul Gosar of Arizona -- have also announced that they would self-quarantine after coming in contact with an infected person during the recent Conservative Political Action Conference.
