Severe thunderstorm warnings issued for Georgia counties

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Floyd County, southwestern Gordon County, and northwestern Bartow County until 7:15 p.m.

Cities impacted include Rome, Calhoun, Adairsville, Plainville, Shannon, Pinson, Oostanaula, Armuchee, and Everett Springs.

At 6:37 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Shannon, or near Rome, and is nearly stationary.

Wind gusts of 60 mph are likely and residents can expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
