COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Arrest warrants have been issued for a Middle Georgia sheriff following a sexual battery investigation in Cobb County.
The Cobb County Police Department said it swore out warrants for Bleckley County Sheriff Kristopher Coody following an incident at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Motel along Galleria Parkway on Jan. 18.
“Following a thorough investigation by investigators from our Crimes Against Persons Unit (with statements gathered from multiple available witnesses) an arrest warrant was obtained on Jan. 28, 2022, for Sheriff Kristopher Coody, the current sheriff of Bleckley County,” the department said in a news release.
Cobb County police said this remains an open investigation.
