ATLANTA — It took the Georgia Dome to hold two of the biggest stars in country music today.
Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney brought the Brothers of the Sun tour to Atlanta Sunday night. The concert was the second stop on the 22-date stadium event. It opened Saturday night in Tampa and runs for just three months, wrapping up at the end of August.
Chesney and McGraw have been friends for years and actually toured together about 10 years ago.

Chesney played Aaron's Amphitheater at Lakewood and Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Alpharetta that last couple of years he's visited town. McGraw played at Lakewood on his last couple of visits. But considering McGraw had the biggest country tour in 2010 and Chesney had the biggest country music tour of 2011, the Georgia Dome was the only place in town big enough to hold all the fans.
Jake Owen and Grace Potter & The Nocturnals opened before McGraw took the stage for about an hour and a half. Chesney played another two hours before the duo took the stage together for several songs.
Nelson's News on wsbtv.com spotted Georgia Tech head football coach Paul Johnson backstage at the concert. Quinton Aaron played football player Michael Oher in the movie "The Blind Side." Aaron spent nearly two months at Georgia Tech training with the football team to prepare for the role. Tim McGraw co-starred in the movie.
Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith took the stage with Chesney for "Boys of Fall." Zac Brown joined Chesney on stage for "Knee Deep" and "Dixieland Delight."
