SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — Friday was moving day for a metro Atlanta family -- and it was one that was not planned.
“Oh God, I felt hurt. I wanted to cry. I was angry,” Tristian Thomas said.
The Thomas family -- along with everyone else at the Westcove Apartments -- was evicted by the city of College Park and given only 48 hours to get out.
“We just hate to move within two days. We need more than two days to move,” Thomas said.
With the deadline looming Friday evening, Channel 2's Justin Wilfon counted 17 moving trucks in the parking lot, everyone scrambling to beat the clock.
“Even though you gave us 48 hours, folks work. That wasn’t enough time,” a tenant said.
Families felt it was not enough time to pack or figure out what’s next.

The city of College Park said Westcove management let a pump station fall into disrepair, resulting in sewage spills.
That led to the city shutting off water to the apartments and eventually led a judge to order everyone out.
“I feel homeless,” Thomas said.
All the families Channel 2 Action News spoke with said Westcove management has yet to refund any of their rent payments.
When Wilfon contacted a manager, she told him refunds were still being considered and said she was working to find families a new place to stay.
But as the deadline came and went Friday night, that help never came.
“We don’t have anywhere to go,” Thomas said.
The contractor working on the repairs said he could have easily done a temporary fix but the permanent fix will take two or three months. It appears that's the earliest the apartment complex could reopen.
