Police identify man killed in double shooting in Gwinnett

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — Police say one person was killed and another injured in a double shooting in Lawrenceville Thursday night.

Officers responded to a report of shots being fired on Summer Ridge Lane around 6:30 p.m. When officers arrived, they found a man with at least one gunshot wound lying in a parking lot. He was taken to the hospital, where he died.

Police have identified the victim who was killed as Sayvon Redding, 27.

A second man was found about a block away suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Police have charged that man, Isaac Dewater, 21, with felony murder and aggravated assault.

Investigators believe there was a fight between several people in the parking lot and shots were fired.
