CAVE SPING, Ga. — One person is dead following a plane crash in Floyd County.
Emergency officials in Floyd County said a plane went down after clipping a Georgia Power transmission line along David Road around 6 p.m.

Floyd County Emergency Management confirms the pilot of the single-engine plane died and was the only on board at the time of the crash.
EMA officials said all of Cave Spring lost power for hours because of the crash. Power was restored early Tuesday night.
In a statement, Georgia Power said:
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those involved in today’s accident. We are working with first responders to assist them in whatever way we can. We currently have approximately 1,750 customers without power.”
