BUFORD, Ga. — Gwinnett County police are investigating a murder after a man was shot to death inside his home.
Police told Channel 2's Jessica Jaglois that someone shot him multiple times.
People who live at the Hartford Run Apartments told Jaglois that the complex is very quiet, which is why this murder has them so rattled.
People who know the victim, a man in his late 20s, could be seen crying and comforting each other Friday night.
The door to the victim's apartment was slightly ajar because police say the man was shot on his own threshold as if he were answering the door.
Detectives have no suspects or witnesses, but say the victim's friends are cooperating.
"He was alone for a period of time so his friends had been and out of the home, the apartment, throughout the day and when they came back to visit him is when they discovered his body," said Cpl. Michele Pihera of the Gwinnett County Police Department.
Gwinnett County police say they found multiple guns inside the apartment but aren't yet sure if one is the murder weapon.
Alison Stephens works at a nearby salon and says crime in the Buford/Sugar Hill area is rare and the thought of a murder happening so close has her worried.
"I work across the street and I leave late at night by myself so that makes me leery of doing that," Stephens said.
Police don't have a suspect description though they do say there is no threat to the community.
Anyone with information in this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
