CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — Clayton County police are investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting in Forest Park.
Channel 2 Action News has learned a male suspect is dead.
Channel 2's Nefertiti Jaquez learned the officer was working an off-duty job at a church across the street from where the incident happened when he heard gunfire.
We're told he ran over and told the suspect to put down his weapon.
Instead, the suspect shot at the officer, who then fired back, police say.
Jaquez spoke to a witness who said the suspect was acting strangely before the deadly confrontation.
GBI is investigating.
This is the 13th officer-involved shooting in Georgia in 16 days.

"That’s why we left, because he was looking at in some weird way."
The 18-year-old said he was defending a female friend moments before the gunfire and adds the suspect was making her feel uncomfortable.
In the surveillance video, you see restaurant patrons rush to the front of the restaurant the moment the bullets start flying.
Investigators spent nearly five hours processing the scene for evidence, including the suspect's gun, and talking to the dozens of onlookers who saw this unfold.
