10-month-old tests positive for multiple drugs; parents arrested, police say

JOHNS CREEK, Ga — Two people are in police custody after their 10-month-old baby tested positive for three drugs.

Johns Creek police said they got a call in July about a sick baby that had to be administered Narcan.

Urine tests and blood test from the baby showed that he tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and caffeine in his system.

“It really sparked this investigation into what was going on there,” said Lt. Deb Coble with the Johns Creek Police Department.

Officers returned to the home on Agate Drive on August 12 and arrested both parents. Sarah Perexemple and George Woods remain in the Fulton County Jail facing child cruelty and drug charges.

“Some of the drugs were actually found in the child’s room,” said Lt. Coble.

Arrest warrants reveal that Perexmple still had alprazolam (Xanax) and meth “concealed inside her undergarments” when she was booked in to the Fulton County Jail. Additionally, she was charged with Crossing Guard Lines of a Correctional Institution with Prohibited Items.
