ATLANTA — It's been ten years since a Gwinnett bride disappeared just four days before her wedding day.

Jennifer Wilbanks, 32, disappeared after going for a run on April 26, 2005.

A massive search covered nearly all of Gwinnett County, but there were no traces of Wilbanks -- until locks of her hair were discovered two days later.

On April 30, Wilbanks called her fiancé, John Mason, and then 911 claiming she had been kidnapped and was in New Mexico.

She told investigators that a couple kidnapped her and she was sexually assaulted, but just a few hours later confessed she had cold feet and took a bus to Las Vegas.

Wilbanks eventually apologized to law enforcement and volunteers who spent hours searching. She was ordered to pay $13,000 in restitution to the city of Duluth to cover a portion of the search costs.
