TROUP COUNTY, Ga. — In Troup County, there is extensive damage in the Lexington Park Subdivision, according to resident Ms. Marsha.
“It’s a lot of damage,” she said.
Channel 2 was there as she and family members loaded clothes into the car because she can’t live in her house.

“You see this on television, but you don’t ever, ever expect to be experiencing it,” she said.
She said the house has extensive water damage. just about every home in her Cul du sac was hit by the tornado.

We saw lots of construction workers putting up those blue tarps on damaged homes. many houses had gaping holes from where the wind blew the homes apart. The National Weather Service assessing the damage, taking pictures, and looking at the debris.
“We have a team here in Troup County and we have other teams in other counties assessing the damage as well,” Dave Nadler said.

County leaders say the storm damaged or destroyed 106 homes many of them in Ms. Marsha’s area. The county is also giving out those blue tarps for people to protect their roof and belongings from the frigid weather.
Despite all the damage, no serious injuries here in Troup County, County Chairman Patrick Crews said.
“I think we can be very fortunate feel very fortunate as a community that we didn’t have any of those incidents,” he said.
