ATLANTA,None — Crews are doing major clean-up after thousands of gallons of water flooded the Atlanta Boat Show when a pool ruptured on the showroom floor.
The show was scheduled to begin at the Georgia World Congress Center at 11 a.m. on Thursday, but the water mess delayed the show until 2 p.m.
Organizers said it is hard to know how much water spilled out of the Indoor Wake Park pool, which was filled with 100,000 gallons of water, but estimated around 70,000 gallons flooded the showroom.
"The pool teetered. It kind of wobbled a little bit and the water kind of rushed out and it's just a one in a million thin," Boat Show Manager Larry Berryman said.
The pool was set up to be used for a wake board event for athletes to show off their skills.
Berryman said no one was injured and there was no damage to property.
"There's a lot of water on the floor, but luckily we're showcasing boats. Boats float. They're used to water," Berryman said.
