POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. — Powder Springs police are looking for the person who shot three teenagers, killing one.

Police say the victims were innocent, good kids who were walking to the store when someone randomly drove by and shot them.

One of the teens, A.J. Kimbrough, 16, was pronounced dead at the hospital. There is no word on the condition of the other two victims, both 13. Police do not have any suspects in the shooting yet.

It all happened Sunday around 5:45 p.m. When investigators got to the scene, they found all three with gunshot wounds. They were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries.

Channel 2′s Lauren Adams spoke with Kimbrough’s grandmother, who asked for her name and face not to be shown for safety reasons.

She told Adams that she heard the shots, ran down the street and found her grandson dead. She said it was case of mistaken identity.

“This kid just turned 16 on Oct. 8, just got his first job. So proud walking with his chest out and he was shot in his chest by his heart,” she said.

“Mom is down here begging for her kid and her kid didn’t have anything to do with it. You need to watch your children. That’s my message,” she said.

One of the neighbors who didn’t want to be identified said this is the fourth shooting in 3 months in this area.

“I hope they get these boys because they’re terrorizing this neighborhood, and it’s not just this neighborhood, it’s the one on Powder Springs, too that got shot up. It’s the same boys.”
