COBB COUTY, Ga. — Two Cobb County police officers are recovering after they were injured responding to a serious injury crash.
The crash happened on Interstate 75 in Kennesaw near Barrett Parkway Sunday at 12:19 a.m.

Officer Katelynne Daws and Officer Gary Marsicek took a driver into custody during a traffic stop. Both of their police cars were flashing with blue lights, with one in the right shoulder and the other in the far right lane.
As Marsicek was securing the driver in the back of the car, police say a driver in a Honda Accord hit both of the officers’ cars.
Marsicek ended up pinned between the patrol car and a guardrail during the collision. He was taken to Kennestone Hospital with serious injuries but is stable.

Daws was transported to Kennestone Hospital and treated for minor injuries and has since been released.
The Honda Accord driver, identified as 41-year-old Ito Sakae of Woodstock, did not report any injuries and was taken into custody.
