HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Gainesville police are investigating a shooting that happened in the parking lot of a shopping center.
Police said two men were taken to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting occurred on 879 Dawsonville Highway, which is located near a Publix Super Market.

Two men were shot in the parking lot of Village Shops of Gainesville during a busy shopping time.
Detectives believe the men were targeted and multiple shots were fired.

Lt. Kevin Holbrook said they plan to work every lead to catch the shooter or shooters who fled the scene.
The next step in their investigation will be to examine surveillance footage from the area.
The reason for the targeting remains unclear, according to Holbrook.
