ATLANTA — Atlanta police are investigating an overnight shooting that injured a toddler.
Officers were called to Hughes Spaulding Hospital in reference to a child shot around 2:50 a.m. When they got to the hospital, they spoke to the 2-year-old boy’s father who said he had been returning to his home on Continental Colony Parkway southwest and when he put his son down to unlock the door, he heard gunfire.

The father said he grabbed his son and realized that he had been shot. He then took the boy to the hospital.
The toddler was listed in stable.
Authorities are still investigating the shooting but there is no suspect information at this time.
