LUMPKIN COUNTY, Ga. — The Lumpkin County sheriff said a fight at a home ended with four people shot, including at least one child.

Deputies and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation blocked off Bryn Drive in Dawsonville as they launched their investigation Thursday.

The sheriff said at 8:30 a.m., they received a report of shots fired at the home. When they arrived, they found two women shot to death and a man they believe had killed himself.

The sheriff said they believe the man -- later identified as Kelley McDonald Jr. -- drove up from Florida to find his estranged girlfriend or wife at her sister's house.

They said he also shot a 16-year-old girl and injured a 2-year-old child.

A 13-year-old was able to escape unhurt to get help.

"It's an unfortunate incident that came from Florida, a domestic situation,” said Lumpkin County sheriff Stacy Jarrard. “I don't know how long the domestic situation had been going on between the man and woman, but it's unfortunate that it went to this level in taking lives."

"Crazy stuff. Crazy what kind of world we live in nowadays,” said neighbor Joe Robinson.

Robinson said this is a very quiet area and that crime, let alone shootings, just doesn't happen there.
