EAST POINT, Ga. — A mother is making a plea to find out who killed her son and left two others wounded Monday in East Point.
"I kept yelling to everybody out here, 'How can you kill a child? Who is that sick to kill a child?'" said Myliaka West.
West said she was at home in the Lakeshire Village Apartments in East Point Monday afternoon when she learned someone shot her 14-year-old son Anthony Harris in the breezeway of their building.
"This is somebody that I can never get back. This is my child," West said.
East Point police say three black males in a black Chrysler 300 with temporary tags drove into the complex, where witnesses said the gate was open.
Witnesses said the men started shooting assault rifles, killing Harris and injuring another teenage boy and girl. Neighbors outside at the time told us they tried to help.
"For a car to come in to actually just shoot some stuff up like that, that is ridiculous," said Jeffrey Young, Harris' uncle.
Anjonette Breaux says she been Harris' therapist since he was 6-years-old and the teen, who had personal goals.
"I do know he was in the process of trying to get his life on track," Breaux said.
His mother, eight months pregnant, went to the hospital to be evaluated after the stress of losing her oldest son.
"She was so hysterical they had to take my daughter to the hospital," West's mother said, who did not give her name.
West believes her son was in the wrong place and not a target of the gunmen.
"If he had known there was somebody as a target in this breezeway he would have never come out here," West said.
She had a message for anyone who knows what brought this violence to her family: "If they know anything, well tell because it could be somebody else next."
Officers are still trying to figure out a motive for the shooting. The black Chrysler has been seen in the company of a black newer model GMC or Chevrolet full-size pickup truck.
