ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. — Conyers Police confirmed with Channel 2 Action News four people were injured in a crash involving an ambulance that was on the way to a call early Thursday afternoon.

According to police, the National EMS unit was responding to a call with lights and sirens around 12:13 p.m. when another car failed to yield and hit the ambulance, causing it to turn over
All four people have been transported to a nearby hospital.
Officials have not confirmed if those injured were in the EMS unit or in the other car involved in the crash.
Police have not released the names and conditions of those injured.

NewsChopper 2 was over over the scene, where an ambulance was on its side in the middle of the intersection. A car with significant front-end damage was on a tow truck.
Officials did confirm Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
