POLK COUNTY, Ga. — A four-year-old boy was killed and his father was critically injured in a crash in Polk County Wednesday, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Troopers said 25-year-old Luis Guzman-Baeza was driving on Cave Springs Road on wet roads when he went around a curve and lost control of his car.

The car went into a spin before rolling over and slamming into a tree, according to the crash report.
Guzman-Baeza’s son, Luis Guzman-Cornejo, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. His 1-year-old brother survived the crash.

Guzman-Baeza was taken to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Friends of the family set up a GoFundMe to raise money for Guzman-Cornejo’s funeral expenses. So far, the community has raised more than $10,000.
