MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. — Channel 2 Action News has learned that at least 7 people were killed in overnight severe storms in northwest Georgia at a mobile home park.
Channel 2′s Chris Jose was in Murray County about 90 miles southwest of Atlanta, where official estimate that 75 homes were destroyed. Seven people died as storms tore through the area and several others were injured.
Murray County Coroner Jason Gibson said the victims were all adults who lived in at least three different mobile homes. The victims have not been identified.

On Ridgeview Circle, homes were leveled down to the foundation.
Jose talked to Mandy Flowers, who’s cousin was injured when storms destroyed her home.
“The whole neighborhood, there’s no houses and my cousin and her husband are in the hospital and there are several people in the hospital that were injured in that neighborhood,” Flowers said.
Flowers said her cousin’s husband is in the ICU.
Flowers’ in-laws live one street over. Her father-in-law survived with minor injures.
“It blew out the window and threw him probably five feet up against the wall when it came through last night,” Flowers said.
Her father-in-law’s home was blown off its foundation.
Gov. Brian Kemp toured the neighborhood that first responders called a “war zone” on Monday. Kemp met with the victims, their families and volunteers. He said it looked like a bomb went off in the neighbohood.
Flowers said she’s just happy her cousin escaped with her life.
“They’re banged up, they’re sore, they’re upset,” Flowers said. “But they’re alive. And that’s the miracle here. They’re still alive.”
Gibson said he’s never seen damage like this.
“We’ve had a few tornadoes but nothing severe," Gibson said. "Nothing with this many fatalities.”
Survivors of the storms told Jose they’ll dig through homes and clean up piece-by-piece.
“I know so many people in the neighborhood,” Flowers said. “Not just my family. And it’s heartbreaking.”
There was a tornado warning in Murray County during the severe storm outbreak.
Crews are still doing damage assessments county wide.
