Brittaine Wright says her daughter Ne’vaeh Brown is the 5-year-old who got caught in the crossfire. She said one of the bullets hit her daughter in the eye.

Channel 2′s Tom Regan talked to Ne’vaeh’s mother, Brittanie Wright said she had just dropped her daughter off for dance practice. When she parked the car, she heard the gunshots and ran to the door.

“I was beating on the door, trying to get them to open, but everyone was in the back,” Wright said. “As soon as she opened the door, she said Ne’vaeh had been hit in the eye.”

Doctors now say her eye is too damaged to be saved.
