6-year-old Georgia boy dies in accidental shooting

PEACH COUNTY, Ga. — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation into an accidental shooting that killed a 6-year-old boy.

The family, which lives in Fort Valley in Peach County, told police that Fiya Hollis was at home with his 10- and 13-year-old siblings Monday night.

They said he was playing with a gun he found in a living room drawer.

Hollis was transported to the Peach County Hospital where he was declared dead.

Neighbors said the child's mother was not there.

Authorities are continuing their investigation.

The Fort Valley Department of Public Safety says: "Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends in their time of grief."
