HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A road in Hall County is now back open after officials said a helicopter crashed Saturday afternoon, killing one person.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, only the pilot was on board when the AR 1 experimental helicopter crashed near the 4700 block of Clarks Bridge Road, just north of Glade Farm Road.
Police told Channel 2 Action News the 75-year-old pilot from Gainesville, Ga. died when the helicopter went down in a hay field on private property.
An official with the National Transportation Safety Board told Channel 2 Action News the aircraft crashed during a local flight shortly after hitting powerlines.

NewsDrone 2 flew over the scene and saw the helicopter laying in an open field.
Officials said no one else was injured.
The NTSB and the FAA are still actively investigating the crash.
