911 call reveals panic during Lenox Square shooting

For the first time, we’re hearing the frantic calls for help after a pair of armed robbers shot a woman in the parking lot of Lenox Square. Police are still searching for the robbers.

It happened on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

A Macy’s employee shot in the stomach after Atlanta police say she refused to hand over her car keys to a pair of armed robbers who targeted her as she walked through the first floor of the Lenox Square parking deck.

Channel 2’s Michael Seiden got the frantic 911 calls a shopper made after witnessing the shooting.

911: “What’s your address of the emergency?

Caller: “Yes! I’m in Lenox. Um, Lenox Mall! I just witnessed someone get. A young lady got shot!”

Caller: “She says it hurts! She’s crying! He shot her! It’s got to hurt! Her shot her!”

Police released surveillance images of the two men who they said fired the shots and ran from the scene.

Detectives believe the gunmen hopped on a MARTA train to escape police

911: “Do you need EMS?”

Caller: “Yes, she does.”

911: “Did they shoot you?”

Caller: “He shot her! Oh my God!”

The victim was rushed to a hospital where doctors treated her for non-life threatening injuries. Now detectives are hoping someone can recognize these men before they strike again.

Channel 2 reached out to the victim and also stopped by her home, but no one was there.

Right now, it’s unclear what the men got away with, but we do know that the victim’s car remained at the scene.
