Alleged gang member under investigation in home invasion death of 14-year-old girl

COWETA COUNTY, Ga. — An alleged gang member is being investigated in a home invasion that left a 14-year-old girl dead in Coweta County.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested William Tyree on a probation violation. Deputies say Tyree has ties to the Ghostface Gang.

Investigators are looking to see if Tyree is one of four suspects investigators connected to the deadly home invasion that killed 14-year-old Haley Adams. Authorities are still searching for the other three suspects.

Tyree is currently not facing charges but is being questioned.

A group stormed into a home on Bethlehem Church Road and made demands on Feb. 11, according to investigators. The gunmen fired off several shots, one of which hit Adams in the back.

She was rushed to Newnan Piedmont Hospital, where she later died.

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video that shows a car pulling into the driveway, three people getting out and running to the house.

The violent intruders then head back out to the car and one opens fire, shooting back at the house before the suspects jump in the car and speed off.

Deputies previously said they believe the home invasion was targeted.

The sheriff’s office is offering $2,000 reward for any information that could lead to arrests.
