CHATTOOGA COUNTY, Ga. — As flood waters continue to impact parts of Chattooga County from this weekend’s heavy rain, the Chattooga County Animal Shelter said it had to relocate all of the animals inside the shelter because of the storms.
On Sunday, Gov. Brian Kemp issued a state of emergency for the area. Large parts of Chattooga County are also without water.

Authorities with the shelter told Channel 2 Action News that it “may be three to four days” to get water restored at the shelter.
Several animal rescue groups helped to relocate the animals until the shelter is ready to reopen.
