ATLANTA — Protesters camped out overnight outside the Atlanta City Jail for a third day, upset over the president's zero-tolerance immigration policy.
A national movement to protect the rights of illegal immigrants crossing the U.S. Mexico border sparked anger in Atlanta.
Dozens of protesters camped outside the city jail.
Channel 2's Steve Gehlbach saw protesters outside the jail Monday morning.
“We're pretty outraged with the situation at the Southern border,” protester Laddie Chunders said. We’re here to make our voices heard.”
They are upset over the president's zero tolerance immigration policy, that separated thousands of undocumented children from their families.

At one point, there was a confrontation between protesters and police.
The protesters set up tents which violates the city ordinance, and when they refused to take the down the two sides clashed.
“They refused and became belligerent, striking the officers,” Atlanta Police Maj. Rick Mason said.
One person went to jail, and no officers were hurt, according to police.
Last week, Atlanta's Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms signed an order stopping Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) from sending any new detainees to the jail.
Officers at the scene on Sunday night told Channel 2 Action News they are monitoring the group and will allow them to demonstrate as long as things are peaceful.
