ATLANTA — If your son or daughter plays golf for an Atlanta Public Schools high school team, they will now have access to dozens of courses for free.
It’s all thanks to a new grant from Arthur Blank, his new TGL golf team the Atlanta Drive and the PGA Superstore. The team and company have partnered with Youth on Course, which supports high school golfers across the country.
“Atlanta has a bevy of outstanding golf courses, and through this grant, we aim to not only provide ease of access for high school golfers, but for them to share the game with their friends and family,” said Atlanta Drive GC Governor and PGA TOUR Superstore Chief Marketing Officer Jill Thomas.

The main purpose of the new partnership is to grow the game of golf.
Through Youth on Course, all rounds are free for students on APS high school golf teams. Other kids under the age of 18 can pay for $5 per round if they apply for Youth on Course through the Georgia State Golf Association.
At least 46 courses have already signed up to host the Atlanta high school golfers with the goal to add more.
“This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to enriching the lives of our youth through sports, character development and community engagement,” APS Athletic Director Corrie Collier said.
For all young golfers out there, Atlanta Drive captain and PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas wanted to share one piece of advice.
“Work as hard as you possibly can. Set goals for yourself and don’t get discouraged,” Atlanta Drive golfer and PGA championship winner Justin Thomas said. “Golf can be an extremely frustrated game. Trust me. But stick with it, work and get a little bit better each day. Learn from all your lessons you possibly can.”
Thomas and the Atlanta Drive will make their TGL debut next Tuesday in West Palm Beach.
