COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Fresh off their World Series win, the Atlanta Braves have exercised the option in manager Brian Snitker’s contract.
Snitker and the Braves agreed earlier this year to a contract extension through 2023. The Braves announced Wednesday morning they picked up the option for 2024.

Snitker has a 441-390 record as the Braves manager in six seasons and led the team to their first World Series title since 1995. Atlanta has also won the NL East division for four straight years under his leadership.
“Brian Snitker is an amazing human being,” Freddie Freeman said after the World Series win. “And it’s absolutely amazing that we get to call him a world champion now for everything he’s done for this organization.”
Snitker has been with the Braves for 45 seasons, holding jobs at nearly every level of the organization before being appointed interim manager in May of 2016. He was appointed the permanent manager later that year. He was named 2018 Manager of the Year by the Baseball Writer’s Association of America.
