ATLANTA — The NFL and the sports world are reacting to Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin’s terrifying injury.
A hit caused him to go into cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday, the team announced.

Hamlin tackled Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins before getting to his feet and falling to the ground. ESPN announcers said CPR was administered to Hamlin on the field. The game between Buffalo and Cincinnati was indefinitely postponed after Hamlin’s injury.
“His heartbeat was restored on the field,” the Bills tweeted. “He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition.”

WSB Tonight at 11 spoke to Garrison Heart, a former Georgia Bulldogs and Cincinnati Bengals player. Hearst like so many watched in horror as this unfolded tonight.
“The first thing I thought was somebody please call his mom. My thought was lord was somebody please call his mom, because I’ve been hurt before and the first thing you think about his parents in the stands and they’re not getting information that they’re getting on the sidelines. You can only imagine how she felt. Then you get to the point where you’re scared,” Hearst told Channel 2.
