COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A Marietta man wanted in a Sept. 30 hit and run crash that took the life of 18-year old Anjanee McClain and 3-month old Cayden Good, was caught Friday night in Cobb County.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, 28-year old Shamir Lashawn Floyd was arrested by Cobb County Police for using a false or stolen credit card and giving a fake name and birthdate.
Cobb County investigators were able to confirm his real identity which matched the description of warrants taken out by the GSP related to the crash which happened just after 9:30 p.m. on September 30.

According to investigators, Floyd was the driver of a high-performance BMW that was clocked at over 120 mph heading south on I-75 near Howell Mill Road. They say Floyd got off the interstate at 17th Street, crossing 14th Street and eventually crashing into a Nissan Altima on 10th Street. Both McClain and Good were passengers in the Altima.
Floyd is currently in the Cobb County jail awaiting a hearing. He’ll eventually be sent to Fulton County where he’ll face a long list of charges: Two counts of felony murder, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, felony fleeing, felony hit and run, reckless driving, speeding, failure to obey traffic control device, failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at stop sign and failure to signal lane change.
