ATLANTA — Hundreds of people attended the March for Humanity in downtown Atlanta Monday.
The march followed the same path as the funeral procession for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that took place 50 years ago today.

The March for Humanity began at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Auburn Avenue and ended at the MLK statue across from Liberty Plaza at the state capitol.
Throughout the afternoon, several people will speak and pay tribute to Dr. King during a program at Liberty Plaza.

At the service before the march at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the church's senior pastor and others, including King's good friend Ambassador Andrew Young, spoke about the Civil rights leader's impact.
3:56 p.m. Reverend Al Sharpton speaks at the march
3:45 pm. Daughters of leaders who lost their lives to gun violence speak at the march.
2:37 p.m. Hundreds are gathered at the capitol for the tributes.
2:15 p.m. Gov. Deal speaks at state capitol tribute to Dr. King.
2:00 p.m. Gov. Nathan Deal and Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms are both in attendance at the capitol.

1:45 p.m. The march has arrived and a program to pay tribute to Dr. King will begin shortly.
1:28 p.m. The march is approaching the state capitol.
1:15 p.m. The march is being led by King's children and grandchild along with close friends and fellow civils rights leaders.
1:05 p.m. Hundreds of people are marching in downtown Atlanta. Roads in the area are blocked. One woman told Channel 2's Dave Huddleston that she pulled her daughter out of school to attend the march because she wants her to understand the importance of Dr. King's legacy.

12:40 p.m.: People are gathering outside Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in preparation for the March for Humanity.
12:35 p.m. Bernice King speaks to marchers outside Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
12:33 p.m.: The service has ended and the March for Humanity is about to begin at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church.
12:19 p.m.: Young activists read words from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his message to the next generation.
11:57 a.m.: Police have closed off areas of the capitol due to the march.
11:09 a.m.: A childhood friend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. sang a song dedicated to him.
11:07 a.m.: Channel 2's Dave Huddleston at the church service said that a father brought his son to listen to the speakers.
10:56 a.m.: Andrew Young said that he has still not been able to process the death of Martin Luther King Jr.
10:53 a.m.: Andrew Young spoke, saying that the current political and racial climate doesn't compare to the 1950s and 1960s. "If you think it was bad now, you should have been there back then."
10:39 a.m.: Former Atlanta mayor and ambassador Andrew Young is in the audience at the church.
10:30 a.m.: The service at the Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church has begun to mark 50s years since the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
