ATLANTA — Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms says restaurants in the city will be able to serve alcohol to-go during a temporary period.
In a tweet, she said: “Thank you to all who sent helpful info to assist with our bars and restaurants. I’ve signed an Executive Order that will allow them to serve alcohol during this Take-Out only period.”

The executive order lasts for 60 days.
This new development follows other executive orders to help stop people from congregating in large groups, which could spread the coronavirus.
On Thursday, Bottoms signed an executive order Thursday ordering the shutdown of dine-in restaurants, gyms, movie theaters and other entertainment venues throughout the city of Atlanta because people were not listening to the warnings and staying home on their own.
“People have not been listening to the warnings,” Bottoms told Channel 2 investigative reporter Justin Gray via FaceTime. “The message to people right now is, take this seriously. Don’t be selfish.”
Woodstock also announced that people will be able to get alcohol to-go. The special license will expire on April 30.
